Who do I call if I have a medical emergency? In case of an emergency go to your nearest emergency room or call 911. Per health insurance guidelines, our office is mandated to refer you to the emergency room for all emergent situations.
What Urgent Care can I go to? For HMO patients with Optum please click HERE. For Allied Pacific IPA, click HERE. For patients with PPO insurance, call your member services line and ask for urgent care centers that are available to you. For patients with Traditional Medicare, call your nearest urgent care and ask if they accept your insurance as most do.
What is a medical group or Independent Physicians Association (IPA) and why does it matter? Medical Groups and IPAs are for HMO patients. Most patients are familiar with common health plans such as Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net etc. However many patients have no idea what a medical group or IPA is. Simply put, the health plan is responsible for your cost of coverage such as your premium and how much you pay for medications. IPAs and Medical Groups are responsible for the network of specialists that are available to you and for the approval of your authorizations to see them.
What Health Insurances does Lucita MD accept? We accept most major HMO, PPO, and other insurances from the following health plans including AARP, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Alignment, Blue Shield, California Care, CIGNA, Health Net, Health Net Federal Services, Humana, LA Care, Medicare, Pacificare, Prime, SCAN, Secure Horizons, United Health Care, and Wellcare
If I need help with health insurance, where should I go? If you have Medicare or Covered California insurance call our office and we can refer you to licensed agents who we partner with and are trained to help you free of charge. If you get insurance from your employer, you can get assistance from your employer’s human resources department.
What should I know for my first appointment? For more information on you what to bring to your first appointment please go to the new patient page here.
